Ela's professional experience is chiefly in early childhood education and early childhood trauma. Prior to joining EdLabs, Ela taught in private and charter schools, working with diverse populations including minority students and those living in poverty. Additionally, Ela has done research on the experiences and outcomes of adopted children who had spent their earliest years in institutions. Ela holds two masters degrees: one in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University, and the other in Clinical Psychology from Harvard University Extension School. Ela appreciates classical music and likes to read, particularly books in her native Polish. She also is a fitness enthusiast and especially enjoys walking around Walden Pond in Concord near her home in Bedford.
